What to know about doubletree hotel resorts in Sanibel Island
Sanibel Islands, Florida (CNN) The doubletree hotels at Sanibel are back on the market.
The hotel industry is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
The latest forecast by Hilton & Marriott is for the hotel industry to grow from $13 billion to $23 billion.
This is the fourth consecutive year Hilton &s; Marriott has revised its forecast.
This past week, they projected a 5% increase in hotel occupancy over the next 10 years.
In the next three years, the forecast is expected rise to 20%.
Sanibel has the largest single hotel business in the US, with more than 600,000 rooms.
A recent study by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development showed that over the course of the year, more than 5.7 million people visited hotels in the United States.
“Our projections are solid,” said Jeff Giesbrecht, chief executive of Hilton &ams; Marriott.
“They are on track to hit their peak occupancy in 2021 and 2022, with occupancy exceeding 3 million rooms for the first time in our history.”

Hilton &amm; Marriott expects hotel occupancy to increase to 20% by 2026, and occupancy exceeding 1 million rooms by 2022.
In 2021, the hotel occupancy forecast is projected to rise to 25%.
In 2022, the occupancy forecast for Hilton &ames; Marriott hotel hotels is predicted to rise from $12 billion to approximately $19 billion.
In 2023, the Hilton &amina; Marriott forecast is for hotel occupancy at Sanilizer Islands to exceed 1 million guests per night.
Hilton & Marriott anticipates occupancy exceeding 5 million guests in 2023.
In 2024, Hilton and/or Marriott expects to experience occupancy exceeding 10 million guests.
For the 2017-2019 fiscal year, Hilton Hotel Resorts expects hotel capacity to be at least 10,500 rooms per night and occupancy to exceed 10,200 rooms per day.
For 2018-2019, Hilton Resorts anticipates hotel capacity at Sanitariums to be between 3,000 and 5,000 guests per day and occupancy between 5,400 and 10,400 guests per room.
For 2019-2020, Hilton, Marriott and the Hilton Resort Resorts Group expect hotel capacity and occupancy at the Sanitar
