Mumbai, Jan 6 (PTI) Big Bamboo Towers, World hotels and other Indian hotels are expected to be the main drivers of the Indian hotel industry in the coming years, according to the head of India’s Lodging Association of India (ILA).
Speaking at a panel discussion at the Lodging and Tourism Conference in Mumbai, Dr. Jitendra Gupta, head of the Lodges Association of Ireland, said the industry is expected to see growth of around 20 per cent a year till 2021.
In a separate statement, the Lodgers Association of the United States said it expects a growth of up to 50 per cent in the sector by 2021.
It said the hotel industry is witnessing a significant expansion of the global hotel market and that the industry has a huge growth potential of $1 trillion.
According to Lodges and Tourism Association of Australia (LTA), which represents Indian hotels, the industry had seen a 20 per of year growth in 2016-17.
The Lodges association is in talks with several global hotel operators to extend the alliance’s cooperation and explore opportunities for further growth.
