A hotel chain that operates in China is spending more than $7 billion on renovations in the country.
In total, the luxury hotel chain said it will spend about $8 billion to renovate its hotels, including the $1.6 billion cost of a hotel in Shenzhen.
The Shenzhen hotel opened in 2016 and was built in collaboration with the Chinese government.
Its main feature is a hotel suite that has a pool, spa, spa tub, spa shower, restaurant, pool, sauna and spa area.
“The goal of this project was to create a unique experience for guests that would appeal to both local and international guests,” a statement from the company said.
“We are committed to providing the best service for our guests, and the Shenzhen Hotel is no exception.
The Shenzhen project will enhance our guests’ quality of life in China.”
The Shenzen Hotel will open at the end of March and will be the second hotel to open in the Chinese city.
The first opened in October 2016.
In addition to the Shenzen, the company is also renovating another hotel in Guangzhou, which is expected to open this year.
The project is expected be completed in 2020.
